Square Space

Square Space Review Compare all Website Builder Products
Summary :

In summation SquareSpace is a website builder that offers some truly beautiful templates that are relatively easy to make relevant to a user but lacks the do it yourself element that a lot of people are looking for. SquareSpace is a site builder that is defiantly aimed at the more experienced user and will probably be a little daunting to someone not so experienced

Value for Money :

Squarespace is one of the more expensive website builders on the market with prices for the lowest plan starting at $8.00/month. The plans are setup in a similar way to their rival Weebly in where the plans are mainly differentiated by the E-Commerce integration. The personal plan offers a limited E-Commerce package which incrementally offers more with each package up to unlimited integration. The business package is the priciest and will set you back $24 a month but offers unlimited pages, blogs and bandwidth among other things.

Editor :

Squarespace is defiantly not a website builder for beginners and has moved away from the regular drag and drop site builder experience. The editor can initially feel quite daunting with lots going on around the screen and no real starting point. Once you have spent a bit of time on the editor you start to realise its capabilities and the vast amount features you have at your fingertips. The editor offers limited drag and drop functionality allowing you to only place objects in certain sections to allow for responsive functionality.

Templates :

The templates offered by Squarespace are some of the best offered by any website builder. The templates are slick, beautiful and contemporary designs that really reflect the company's outlook. The only downside is that they only offer 25 designs which limits your choice and decreases the chances of you having a truly unique website.

Additional Features :

Squarespace offer all of the typical extras you'd expect including things such as google analytics, form builders and an impressive photo editor. As previously stated E-Commerce is included with all premium accounts but on the personal plan you are limited to 1 product and 20 products on the professional plan. When you upgrade to Business you can sell unlimited products as well as offering real time shipping, accounting via Xero and much much more.

Guides and Customer Service :

As soon as you enter the editor you are met with a helpful get started video that informs you of the basic editor functionality. As you enter the editor you are also presented with helpful tool tips as you navigate around the different areas of the builder. The support center offers you a good number of options whether it be searching the knowledge base, opening a live chat or simply submitting a ticket you are well covered.

Life Caoch

This company has very poor customer service. There is only two way of communication thur live chat or email. They are slow to contact you back and if you had a change of email be prepared to scan your DL before they will resolve the issue, however, if you cancel you don't have to provide this information. Makes no sense.

not user friendly

The commerce division will not sell my product... and the prices are not great. Also for a first time website maker it was horrifically hard to navigate. I had on heck of a time getting it done. Not terribly user friendly.

Squarespace - like it!

I currently use Squarespace. There was a learning curve, but it was not that difficult. I have a good-looking, high-end site for my blog.

Excellent Platform

In comparison to every other Web Building Platform I have used Squarespace is by far the best. I seriously wonder about the other reviews posted here, its like they've never used the platform. The majority of problems these other reviews have stated are false. The platforms are a dream to edit, font editing is great, custom sizes no problem, can even integrate with Typekit for the the Adobe CC users eg Professional Graphic Designers.

I've used squarespace extensively and it is an intuitive, easy to use, platform loaded with very helpful features for Ecommerce entrepreneurs and content developers, as well as hobby-ers and the like.

It displays videos and images beautifully, and their customer service has been on point every single time I've gone to them. There is a slight learning curve, but if you're building a website with some custom, out of the ordinary, features, expect some difficulty.

Thanks squarespace for being so awesome

Makes your photos look poor

Lovely templates and logical easy editing, however the templates provided are limited and made all my photographs lose quality and become slightly blurred. Even basic wordpress website didn't do that to my photos. Going to look at something else.
