Web.com Review Compare all Website Builder Products
Summary :

Web.com is a big player in the web builder market and has helped create over 15 million websites however it’s not abundantly clear why so many have chosen this website editor when there are better options on the market. The plus points are it’s relatively easy to setup a basic website and you can have a site setup in literally next to no time. It’s aimed at novice users and is a viable option if you want to give your business an online presence in the shortest time possible.

Value for Money :

Web offer a website editor that seems to be competitively priced at first glance offering 3 packages aimed towards small to medium sized businesses. The entry level price is just $2.95/month for the first month but re-bills at whopping $22.95 after 4 weeks. The higher level plans offer packages priced at $32.95/month and $42.95/month respectively. The middle plan offers online marketing and the highest plan offers marketing and E-Commerce.

Editor :

The editor Web offer is very much content driven and requires you to answer a handful of questions about your site. The content will then be uploaded to your site automatically for you when you first enter the editor. The process of getting to the editor is no a quick one but once you are in the editor your information is pre-loaded and you are ready to make a start. The website editor isn’t easy to get the hang of and you aren’t given much help getting started. The control panel looks pretty dated and lacks functionality. You are restricted to placing objects in specific boxes and you don’t get the freedom to place objects where you might want.

Templates :

Templates are offered in great numbers but aren’t the most attractive on the market. The majority are business related designs and in most cases pretty basic templates. You are given the ability to change the colour schemes of the different templates opening up your template library a lot further.

Additional Features :

Webs website builder doesn’t offer a great deal in terms of features but enough to produce a basic website for a small company. The common multimedia and social features are all present and a nice ‘poll’ feature comes as standard with no extra cost. The only premium features offered is the online marketing extra which comes with the mid-level plan and E-Commerce which comes with the highest priced plan.

Guides and Customer Service :

The support offered via the editor comes in the form of ‘help articles’ which you will need to trawl through get any help. Within your ‘site overview’ you have the option to look at a quick start guide as well as some video tutorials. These aren’t made all that visible from the outset and should may have been introduced earlier in the setup process. The videos are however pretty helpful and should give you some good tips.
